 War of the Dead, the ongoing campaign series that brings the zombie apocalypse to the award winning Savage Worlds role-playing game, has entered final layout and will be available within the next few weeks. The campaign is broken down into 4 individual chapters of 13 adventures each, with a new adventure available every Monday. In the Chapter One, Week One PDF, players will be given tips for creating Savage Worlds characters to survive a world-wide zombie outbreak, GMs are given information on the Living Dead and their abilities, tips on how to maintain the tone and feel of a zombie apocalypse, and guidelines for modifying the adventures to include the "personal journey" of the player-characters. The first PDF also includes the first 3 adventures in the series.
War of the Dead is a weekly series, with a discounted subscription plan for each chapter. Each chapter is front-loaded to RPGNow.com in the beginning with automated release dates, assuring that each chapter is already at RPGNow.com before a subscription option is made available. Those that subscribe late are given all previous adventures, in addition to future adventures still in the queue. |

 Beginning soon, Daring Entertainment brings the zombie-apocalypse- in the styles of George A. Romero and Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead comic book series, Image Comics)- to Savage Worlds with WAR OF THE DEAD!
War of the Dead is a 52-week campaign that takes the player characters from the first days of the Outbreak all the way to a world overrun by the Living Dead. There’s plenty of Savage Worlds zombie action, but this is not your average shoot-em-up zombie story. This is also a personal journey as the Characters find themselves in situations where they will have to make tough choices . . . choices that begin to chip away at the core of who they thought they were! It’s a world where you can’t just head down to the local Exxon or Wal-Mart for supplies. Zombies are only one part of the threat as the Characters have to deal with their own continued survivor, other survival groups, a government and military in chaos, and many other obstacles. |

War of the Dead is the 52 part, weekly zombie apocalypse campaign for Savage Worlds that begins June 2010! There are a lot of zombie stories out there in RPGs, film, and fiction. Some deal with the apocalypse in an action-oriented vein: pitting the group against endless hordes of Living Dead. Some explore the social and psychological ramifications of the Outbreak, exploring what people will do in order to survive. Some combine the two, using the zombies as a plot piece to explore human nature. War of the Dead is designed to do all of the above. Certain adventures pit the characters against the Living Dead in a physical context, while others deal with the paranoia, fear, and struggles of the characters to survive. |
