War of the Dead is a 52-week campaign that takes the player characters from the first days of the Outbreak all the way to a world overrun by the Living Dead. There’s plenty of Savage Worlds zombie action, but this is not your average shoot-em-up zombie story. This is also a personal journey as the Characters find themselves in situations where they will have to make tough choices . . . choices that begin to chip away at the core of who they thought they were! It’s a world where you can’t just head down to the local Exxon or Wal-Mart for supplies. Zombies are only one part of the threat as the Characters have to deal with their own continued survivor, other survival groups, a government and military in chaos, and many other obstacles. The year-long campaign is divided into Four Chapters of 13 adventures each. Each Chapter will be uploaded to RPGNow.com all at once with a weekly, automated release day of every Monday. There will also be a discounted subscription package available for each Chapter that basically gives 3 of the 13 adventures for free. The Week 1 Adventure PDF offers a role-playing overview of the War of the Dead setting, including tips for character creation and character archetypes typically found in the genre. It provides clear examples of goals beyond just surviving, whether it’s the reporter trying to get reliable info out to other survivors in a world where mass-media has crumbled; or the businessman looking for an angle to capitalize on Armageddon. It also contains a complete guide to the Living Dead for the Gamemaster, along with clear rules for handling the infection, and advice on how to tell stories in a world where the zombies are spreading at an unfathomable rate. This is just the first stage in our new zombie-apocalypse line. We’re working with Jordan “Greywolf” Peacock for figure-flats and other support material, some free downloads to help players “flesh out” their characters if they get stuck, and other goodies. Then, following the conclusion of War of the Dead, we’ll be releasing the World of the Dead campaign setting book, which picks-up a little after where the campaign left off, taking characters into the full-blown apocalyptic world much like Mad Max . . . but with a heck of a lot of hungry Living Dead looking for dinner. |

Beginning soon, Daring Entertainment brings the zombie-apocalypse- in the styles of George A. Romero and Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead comic book series, Image Comics)- to Savage Worlds with WAR OF THE DEAD!
